JTL SUPPORTS APPRENTICES AFTER CARILLION CRUMBLES

In the last few weeks, JTL – the leading specialist provider of apprenticeships for young people in the electrical, heating and plumbing sectors – has been helping apprentices that have been working towards qualifications through JTL.

The provider works with more than 6,000 apprentices across England and Wales and remains the largest in the electrical sector. They also work with more than 3,000 employers and JTL are in talks with these companies to find vacancies for the Carillion apprentices that aren’t guaranteed a placement after January.

Liam Sammon, JTL’s Commercial Director, says there are 26 learners on an apprenticeship with Carillion and that “just under half of our Carillion apprentices have now secured new or on-going employment”, with the help of JTL’s Training Officers and their contacts.

Sammon adds: “JTL, as a charity, are able to provide a financial incentive for employers through an ‘Adoption Grant’ where we can award up to £1,500 in respect of any JTL apprentice who is made redundant and taken on by a new employer.”

JTL say they are keen to hear from employers in the Mechanical Engineering Services as well as Heating and Ventilation sectors and encourage those interested to contact their customer service team on 0800 085 2308.
