Sad News for the sector:Another small training provider shuts down

A training provider has had to shut its doors. after trading for 20 years. rated good by Ofsted.

FNTC delivered mainly level 2 and 3 Apprenticeships.

Changes made to the apprenticeship market since May 2017, including the introduction of employer levy accounts, mandatory employer contributions, apprenticeship standards cuts in funding, prior learning, off the job training and reduction in funding.

With funding for lower level apprenticeships being cut to levels that make it impossible to deliver quality training.  This training provider will not be the first to have to close its doors due to funding,

Over the past few weeks I have held many conversations with providers who are thinking of stopping delivery  of care apprenticeships, as they are having to run at a loss, and with many small providers specializing in this area, it is no longer viable for them to continue delivery. One owner of a training provider is not taking a salary so she can keep her doors open and pay her staff.

When funding is decided for each apprenticeship standard, it would be of benefit to all to see how funding is broken down.

Is the ESFA on a mission to destroy apprenticeships in the care sector?

The office of Ann Milton has been contacted, to hold a meeting with Training Providers, any time any place, I even had a phone call from the office, but since then nothing. As a former nurse you would think the Minister would understand the importance and value of apprenticeships in this sector.
