Our Level 4 Designated Safeguarding Person Training for colleges and training providers is designed for existing or new designated safeguarding persons in educational settings. This training will give attendees the knowledge and confidence to undertake this demanding and vital role. All our safeguarding training is delivered by approved safeguarding trainers with excellent occupational experience. All our safeguarding training includes the latest updates and Ofsted guidance, including Child Exploitation and County Lines.
Ofsted specifies that ‘there is a designated senior member of staff in charge of safeguarding arrangements who has been trained to the appropriate level and understands their responsibilities relating to the protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults and the safeguarding of all learners.’ Inspecting safeguarding in early years, education and skills settings, September 2019.
This training is designed to meet the training requirements of Designated Safeguarding Officers working in education. The event will give attendees the opportunity to explore the requirements of the role in detail, wider considerations for safeguarding in educational environments and identify best practice. The training is interactive and thought provoking.
All staff should receive training when first undertaking this role, and thereafter on a 2 yearly basis as a minimum. Ofsted state ‘Designated members of staff in schools and colleges should be a senior member of the school or college leadership team and they should undertake safeguarding training every two years and their knowledge and skills should be refreshed at regular intervals, but at least annually’. Please note, all attendee will be expected to have previously completed a introductory safeguarding course.
This one day training event includes key information for anyone undertaking the role of a Designated Safeguarding Officer. It will allow attendees time for reflection and discussion on key topics the affect safeguarding in their training centresand colleges.
