Salary: £32k to £35k


Our client is a well-established and successful training provider organisation, who are currently embarking on an exciting period of growth. As part of this expansion they have a new vacancy for a Head of Data and Compliance to join their team.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the main responsibilities of the Head of Data and Compliance are:

  • Timely and accurate data entry on to relevant external and internal systems.
  • Implementing systems for compiling management information reports, data extraction queries and reconciliations of data (weekly/monthly) and as and when required.
  • Carrying out audits of documentation and appropriate IT systems to ensure full compliance with all aspects of contracts in line with funders methodology. Reducing risk of financial clawback.


  • To lead on the preparation and submission of all funding data returns, ensuring full compliance with the audit requirements of all funding agencies.
  • Oversee the inputting of data onto our internal/external systems to ensure learner/stakeholder/employer records are accurately recorded
  • To lead on the strategic development of Management Information Systems to support curriculum and support areas whilst meeting the changing requirements of OfSted, ESFA, DWP and devolved funding models. 
  • To lead and manage the data/claims team ensuring that all Information Systems are fully integrated so as to deliver first class, fit for purpose, streamlined processes.
  • Report issues and themes to your line manager to help improve the feedback we give to our customers
  • Develop SLA’s for processing all learner paperwork.
  • Work as part of a team to achieve team targets which will support the business goal of processing all learner paperwork within internal SLAs
  • Use the internal training provided to build a strong knowledge base that you can share with colleagues and internal customers 
  • Strengthening team competency to ensure continued professional development and continued improvements within delivery
  • Managing your own time to achieve and exceed daily targets
  • Contribute to improving internal processes and protocols through monthly 1-2-1 and ad hoc team meetings
  • Support with ad hoc administration requirements including data cleanse; file creation; archiving; etc.
  • Ensure 100% compliance across all funding paperwork and data entry
  • To work closley with the Director of Quality and Operations to manage, maintain the Group’s Success Rates ensuring that the business perform above national benchmarks.
  • Develop data dash boards that are user friendly for the business 
  • Monitor and review the effectiveness of working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, seeking and providing feedback, in order to identify areas for improvement.
  • Attend any external training as necessary to ensure constant knowledge of current government funding issues and communicate/implement these changes as appropriate.


  • 3 years experience of using a learner records system such as PICS for use with employability and work-based provision
  • A good understanding of ESFA and DWP funding and its MIS requirements/guidance for statutory returns
  • A deep knowledge and understanding of the relevant funding rules
  • A knowledge of Ofsted CIF and its data requirements and responsibilities
  • A knowledge of ESFA/ESF/DWP audit requirements
  • Experience of change management and leading successful teams
  • Experience of developing and implementing new systems and procedures
  • Experience of developing and implementing data reporting systems
  • Experience of successfully managing projects
  • Experience of developing productive working relationships with organisations and stakeholders
  • A proven ability to manipulate and analyse complex data.
  • An ability to interpret statistical information and to communicate effectively to nonnumerical staff
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
  • Excellent IT skills that include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, E-Portfolios and MI systems
  • Level 5 Management qualification or working towards
  • Ability co-ordinate and motivate staff
