UKG Lifeskills are a newly established training provider(company reg no 10950247) working with our parent company UKG Lifestyle (company reg no 06311210) to deliver apprenticeship and other vocational qualifications to our operational businesses – The Help (a social care business– www.the-help.co.uk)and British Maids (a domestic and commercial cleaning service www.britishmaids.co.uk).


We are listed on the Register of UK Learning Providers (reg no 10067864) and are intending to apply for entry to the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers when it re-opens in September 2018. Whilst initially delivering apprenticeships internally to help develop our 110 established staff (and around a further 20 new starts each fortnight), it would be our intention to develop the business and provide training support and apprenticeships for other care and health organisations in the area. 

Our primary focus is on the delivery of Health and SocialCare apprenticeships and we are intending to deliver the following apprenticeship standards:

·        Levels 2 and 3 in Adult Social Care

·        Levels 2 and 3 in Healthcare Support

·        Level 5 Assistant Health Care Practitioner

·        Levels 4 and 5 Health Care Manager (whenapproved by the Institute of Apprenticeships in September 2018)

Internally we have 110 experienced care staff ready to develop their career and upskill to levels three, four and five and ongoing fortnightly inductions of 20 new staff to support or business growth. We are proposing to deliver more health focused qualifications alongside our Adult Care training so that we improve the skills within the team and equip the business with a broader range of expertise to help it develop into new markets.We are an accredited delivery centre for NCFE/Cache and have invested in PICS,One File (e-portfolio and VLE) and BKSB (for functional skills assessment and delivery) as our core systems for delivery. 

As a business we are focused on quality and it is our aspiration to become a Grade 1 Ofsted provider. We focus heavily on learning and development in the business with Care Assistants receiving 22 days training per annum, Senior Care Assistants receiving 28.75 days training per annum and Team Leaders receiving 33 days per annum. Using our current delivery model with all staff undertaking a level 2 certificate in care on joining the organisation we have developed a detailed scheme of work with a blended approach of both classroom and virtual/distance learning (@4 hrs per week) to ensure that the programme is effective and meets our minimum obligation of 20% off the job training. We have recruited experienced and qualified staff from within the sector and are in the process of recruiting additional training /assessing staff from the Health service to allow us to fully deliver our portfolio of courses and eventually introduce the new level 6 apprenticeship for Registered Nurses.
