More About APPRENTICESUPERMARKET.COM

Executive Summary

IAS UK Ltd (Trading as Apprentice Supermarket) is a Northampton based Community Interest Company. Our mission is to ‘develop the self-belief, life skills, business skills and employability of young people and adults’ across the county. In achieving this mission, we have worked with disadvantaged and marginalised people for over six years, including young adults struggling to progress in mainstream education, the long-term unemployed, those with substance misuse issues and ex-offenders. We have also supported people with a variety of learning difficulties e.g. Dyslexia and those arising from conditions including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Asperger’s. We firmly believe that everybody has potential, regardless of the barriers they face, and our work enables them to realise this potential and become contributing citizens.

As a SFEDI (Small Firms Enterprise Development Initiative) accredited centre (highest category Blue rating), we deliver both the Level 1 and Level 2 Award in Enterprising Skills and Employability, a qualification developed with employers in mind and designed to build skills that are relevant to the workplace. Fundamental to our delivery of this qualification is the quality of the learner experience and our ability to help people progress and achieve their individual goals. ‘Course evaluation questionnaires are included in each learner’s file and these showed incredibly positive learner feedback’ SFEDI Audit, December 2016.

Over the last six years, we have helped over 350 young people and adults in Northamptonshire to achieve this qualification, and it is this experience that we will use to deliver our proposed Employability Programme.

Organisation Summary

“Helping the So Called Lost Generation”

It is not the strongest of the species survive nor the most intelligent it is the ones that are more adaptable to change. Our aim is to ensure that every young adult that has fallen through the gap of either welfare or education is given a second chance.

We as an organisation allow individuals to build their self-esteem, confidence and learning abilities that may have been lost in education or in the home environment. We ensure that they understand their roles and responsibilities within their community and more importantly in their work place.

Since 2011, we have employed over 16 apprentices, helped over 325 young adults gain a qualification. We have our own direct claims status accredited centre and we have achieved the highest blue status rating for our delivery of work within this sector.

Our founder Andrew Kunman, was one of those young adults that had slipped through the net and was in a position to repay the faith given to him by his first mentor. However, he was shocked by the lack of progression since his time at school and wanted to provide a solution for this every growing demand.

Apprentice CIC, is the charitable arm that owns the IP and Licenses for the course content

and is the none vatable arm of the business. IAS (UK) Ltd is the holding company and is the vatable arm of the business.
